Hence the applicants are required to demonstrate English proficiency by taking the Celpip general test. Your job would include meeting with the purchasers and knowing their requirements to help them find the exact property that matches their style and specifications but there are some rules and regulations that have to be followed to become realestate agent in Canada. What are CELPIP LEVELS?
CELPIP levels are CELPIP exam scores which students are awarded from ranges of M, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12th being the topmost level.

The test is divided into four sections namely celpip listening score, celpip reading score, celpip writing score and celpip speaking score. Celpip writing score and Celpip speaking score have four categories:
- Content and coherence include the organisation of ideas, quality of ideas and number of ideas.
- Vocabulary includes word choice, range of words and phrases, suitable use of words and phrases and precision and accuracy.
- Listenability includes pronunciation, intonation, pauses, self-correction, grammar and sentence structure etc.
- And lastly, Task fulfilment includes relevance, tone, length and completeness.
Based on the above mentioned four sections, the test taker is assigned ratings by a committee of multiple raters. These ratings are then later transformed to a celpip level by English language experts who were a part of the standard-setting exercise.

IMPORTANCE’ OF CELPIP LEVELS?
- Celpip level M means minimal proficiency or insufficient information to access.
- Celpip level 3 means there is some proficiency but only in limited contexts.
- Celpip level 4 means there is an adequate proficiency but for only daily activities.
- Celpip level 5 means in process of acquiring proficiency in workplace and community contexts.
- Celpip level 6 means developing proficiency in the workplace.
- Celpip level 7 means there is an adequate proficiency in workplace and community contexts.
- Celpip level 8 means there is a very good proficiency in the workplace and community contexts.
- Celpip level 9 means there is an effective proficiency in workplace and community contacts
- Celpip level 10 means there is a highly effective efficiency in workplace and community contexts.
- Celpip level 11 and 12 both mean there is advanced proficiency in the workplace and community context.
NOTE: Listening and Reading score (listening and reading scores are calculated out of 38)
- If you have a listening score between 35 to 38 and if you have a reading score between 33 to 38 then you are granted a celpip level from 10 to 12.
- A listening score of 33 to 35 and a reading score of 31 to 33 is granted a celpip level of 9.
- A Listening score of 30 to 33 and reading score of 28 to 31 is granted a celpip level of 8.
- A listening score of 27 to 31 and a reading score of 24 to 28 is granted a celpip level of 7.
- A listening score of 22 to 28 and a reading score of 19 to 25 is granted a celpip level of 6.
- A listening score of 17 to 23 and a reading score of 15 to 20 is granted a celpip level of 5.
- A listening score of 11 to 18 and a reading score of 10 to 16 is granted a celpip level of 4.
- A listening score of 7 to 12 and a reading score of 8 to 11 is granted a celpip level of 3.
- A listening score and as well as the reading score of 0 to 7 is granted a celpip level of M.
IMPORTANT: A minimum of level 7 celpip score is known as the ‘passing score’ which is required for ‘express entry’ into Canada
CELPIP REALTOR SCORE IN CANADA
Now that you have enough knowledge on celpip scores, let’s talk about the score needed to write the real estate licensing exam which will help you in becoming a realtor in Canada. Most provinces have various licensure but in most provinces of Canada, a written licensing exam is important for your realtor application to be approved.
NOTE: To appear for the real estate licensing exam the test taker must have a level of 7 or higher on each of the four sections mentioned of The CELPIP general test. Then only he or she is qualified to take the exam.
There are some exemptions though which could be provided to the real estate division with proof that the test taker is licensed in another jurisdiction in Canada, meeting all of its language requirements.
